About Me - Kathleen Currence

kathleenAfter graduating from Ohio University in 1962 with a B.S. in Education, I began my career as an elementary teacher in the Centerville School District, in Centerville, Ohio. Our family relocations took me to both Barrington Schools in Illinois and Morris School District in New Jersey, where I created the open classroom concept in the elementary schools.  While living near Kalamazoo, Michigan, I worked as the gifted consultant for St. Joseph County and was responsible for all gifted education programs throughout the county.  Further moves lead me to the Olathe School District in Olathe, Kansas where I became the teacher for a gifted program for 7th, 8th, and 9th graders.  Finally my career turned to administrative positions in the Blue Valley School District, in Overland Park, Kansas, where I was both an assistant principal and principal of a middle school from 1990 to 1998.

During all the years I was employed as an educator, I took courses at nine different universities and colleges and finished a Master’s Degree at Baker University in Kansas and a Specialist Degree in School Administration from University of Missouri, Kansas City.  I left Kansas City to move to Dayton, Ohio, where I dabbled in private business for four years as a vice president of KEUCO, Inc., an upscale German based bathroom products business. Presently I serve eTutorWorld, an online tutoring company, as one of the founding directors, and currently as Vice President and Director of Education.
